Feel at Home, Every Step of the Way

Ageing in place allows you to remain in a familiar, comfortable environment while receiving the extra support you need. This can be in your own home or within a care community. At Omara, we understand how important it is to feel truly at home, which is why we offer the flexibility to continue living with us as your needs evolve.

You can enjoy meaningful activities, social connections, and a supportive environment—while receiving personalized care tailored to you.

Why Choose Residential Care

Our approach is centred around you—your preferences, your lifestyle, and your evolving needs. At Omara, our team works alongside you to help you:

  • Stay independent by balancing the right level of support with your personal freedom, so you can continue living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
  • Remain connected by maintaining relationships with friends, family, and the wider community that matter most to you.
  • Experience consistent care from familiar Omara team members you know and trust, providing reassurance and continuity.
  • Feel at ease in a comfortable, familiar environment, reducing the stress that often comes with change.
  • Support your wellbeing by taking part in activities at your own pace, promoting both physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions about Residential Care

How do you facilitate ageing in place when a person’s needs increase?

When you join us, we put a Care Plan in place which helps meet your clinical, social and spiritual needs. When you or your Omara carers believe your needs are increasing, we do a Care Plan review where we can discuss these changes and put appropriate plans in place to support you, including additional care or nursing.

Some ways we can help you age in place include:

  • We can arrange for allied health to assess for mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers.
  • If your medical needs increase, we can discuss this with you and your GP to make the arrangements. Omara residences, of course, don’t replace the need for hospital care.
  • We have fall prevention strategies in place, including providing help in the bathroom and advice for keeping your private bedroom area free from clutter.
  • We have Dedicated Assignments, where team members work regular shifts with the same groups of residents so you have familiarity and continuity.
Yes, at Omara we have a specialist palliative care team dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred support. We offer a safe, private, and dignified environment, with medical care available whenever it’s needed. To learn more, speak with our team about our palliative care services.

Omara is home to our residents, so we don’t have set visiting hours. Family and friends are welcome to visit at a time that suits them, and we encourage sharing meals and spending quality time together whenever possible.

In the event of an outbreak (such as COVID-19, influenza, or gastro), visiting arrangements may be adjusted to protect everyone’s health and safety. Please contact your local Omara residence for the latest updates.
